Lori Loughlin and Olivia Jade 'are in communication' after weeks of not talking: report

Updated

Trying to get back to normal?

As Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, potentially face up to 40 years each behind bars for their alleged connection to the college admissions scandal, their daughters appear to be slowly trying to get their lives back on track.

Both Isabella Rose, 20, and Olivia Jade, 19, are technically still enrolled at the University of Southern California, the school that their parents are accused of paying $500,000 to get them into as crew recruits -- despite never having rowed before. That being said, they're not expected to return as students.

This week, Bella reactivated her Instagram, which she deactivated in the wake of the scandal, though she has yet to post anything new on her page. Olivia never deactivated her account and has yet to post anything public since the scandal broke, either, but reports claim that she has been sharing content with her close friends on the app.

Last week, the influencer was spotted at a Los Angeles house party alongside several high-profile fellow YouTube stars, and Us Weekly reports that she is finally speaking to her parents again.

Olivia, who has been living with her boyfriend, Jackson Guthy, in Malibu since charges were announced against her parents in March, and her mom "are in communication" now, the outlet reports. All it took was a little perspective for Olivia.

"Olivia was angry with her parents at first, but now realizes that they were just trying to do what’s best for her," a source told the outlet. "Olivia loves her mom and dad very much, but is especially close with Lori."

The source adds that the YouTube star is instead focusing her energy "on how to turn this around so she can be famous for the right reasons again."

Previous reports had indicated that she was "not talking to her parents" and was "completely in hiding" for weeks. Not only that, but sources said that she "blames her mom and dad for this scandal and for the downfall of her career."

"Now that her endorsement deals have fallen through she is very upset with her parents," another insider told Us at the time. "Olivia didn’t even show interest in going to college, she wanted to take time and work on her beauty career, but her parents were the ones who wanted her to get an education."
