Prince Harry and Meghan Markle break major Instagram record
Leave it to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to make a record-breaking debut on Instagram.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched @SussexRoyal, their official Instagram account, on Tuesday, and they've already broken the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to gain one million followers on Instagram.

The account skyrocketed past the one million mark on Tuesday afternoon just 5 hours and 45 minutes after being set up. Less than 48 hours later, as of Wednesday afternoon, the account had almost triple that at 2.8 million total followers and counting.
Not only that, but according to journalist Benjamin Wareing, Meghan and Harry joining Instagram actually caused the platform to momentarily crash because of the sheer volume of user activity it resulted in.
The previous record-holder was K-Pop star Kang Daniel, who hit the one million mark in 11 hours and 36 minutes, more than double the time it took Meghan and Harry to do so. Before Daniel, the record-holder was none other than Pope Francis, who took 12 hours to hit the milestone.
The couple's first post, which was a slideshow of photos from their first year as a married couple, surpassed the one million likes mark on Wednesday afternoon.
"Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues," the couple wrote in the post's caption. "We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal. - Harry & Meghan"

Among those to publicly welcome them to social media were Instagram's official account, Elle magazine, Glamour, Comments By Celebs, Travel and Leisure, Marie Claire and, most notably, Harry's cousin and fellow newlywed, Princess Eugenie!
"Welcome cousins," she captioned a photo from their official engagement announcement.
