Luke Perry's teenage daughter, Sophie, pens note after father's passing: 'I’m not really sure what to say or do'

Luke Perry's teenage daughter, Sophie, penned a heartfelt message on Tuesday, one day after her father's sudden passing at 52.

"A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast," the 18-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a selfie with her dad.

After thanking the public for the outpouring of love and support, she continued, "I'm not really sure what to do or say in this situation, it's something you aren't ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it's all happening in the public eye. So [bear] with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just being grateful quietly."

Sophie was abroad in Malawi when she received news of her father's stroke last Wednesday. She rushed to Los Angeles to be by his side, People reports.

The teenager posted occasional photos with her dad on Instagram, including a snap of him kissing her on the cheek before she headed off to prom last spring. Another photo shows the father-daughter pair both wearing goofy shoes. "My old man and I are truly such fashion icons," she wrote.

Luke also leaves behind son Jack, who he shared with ex-wife Minnie Sharp, and his fiance, Wendy Madison Bauer.

Perry's "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Shannen Doherty said his children were his "biggest accomplishment": "He raved about his kids and how proud he was of them," she said this week.
