Stars react to Luke Perry's death at age 52

Tributes to Luke Perry are pouring in after the actor's death at age 52.

“I am in shock. Heartbroken," Shannen Doherty, who played Perry's on-screen love interest in "90210," told People, adding, "Luke loved his family. He raved about his kids and how proud he was of them. He showed me videos of the often. They were his heart and for him, his biggest accomplishment."

Calling him a "smart, quiet, humble and complex man with a heart of gold," Doherty recalled rekindling her friendship with Perry after her cancer diagnosis. "I will miss him everyday. Every minute. Every second."

Actor Mark Hamill shared a video of a young Perry talking about his life goals, captioning it, "Too soon."

"My heart is broken," Molly Ringwald, who played Perry's ex-wife on "Riverdale," wrote. "I will miss you so much Luke Perry. Sending all my love to your family."

Ian Ziering was the first of Perry's former "90210" co-stars to publicly honor his life on social media.

"Dearest Luke, I will forever bask in the loving memories we've shared over the last thirty years," he tweeted. "May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here, for those you leave behind."

Jennie Garth also shared her response to his death, through an exclusive statement released to People.

"My heart is broken. He meant so much to so many. Such a very special person," she wrote. "I share my deep sadness with his family and all who loved him. Such a terrible loss."

Ryan Seacrest, Carson Daly, Charlie Sheen, Seth Green, Valerie Bertinelli and Mayim Bialik were among more of the famous faces to pay tribute to Perry.

Perry's character, Dylan McKay, was widely considered one of the biggest heartthrobs of the '90s. He played the iconic role for five years, between 1990 and 1995.
