Prince Philip, 97, involved in car accident, not injured

Prince Philip is doing fine after being involved in a "road traffic accident."

Buckingham Palace released a statement on Thursday that the 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh was "not injured" after the incident, which happened in the vicinity of the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.

"The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon," a palace spokesperson said. "The Duke was not injured. The accident took place close to the Sandringham Estate. Local police attended the scene."

Philip was last seen in public on December 19, when he was photographed arriving at his wife, Queen Elizabeth's, annual Christmas brunch at Buckingham Palace. Before that, his last public appearance was at the wedding of his granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, and Jack Brooksbank.
