Paris Hilton calls off engagement to Chris Zylka: report

Updated

Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka have called it quits.

TMZ reported on Monday that the heiress-slash-DJ called off her engagement to the actor weeks ago, citing sources close to Hilton that things were just moving "too fast" for her and, despite constant comments to the press saying that Zylka was the love of her life, he "just wasn't the one."

"Paris hopes the two can remain friends and wishes Zylka all the best," the outlet added.

Their most recent red carpet outing as a couple came back on October 20.

The news comes as the couple was coming up on their one-year engagement anniversary. Zylka proposed to Hilton at the top of a mountain in Aspen on New Year's, sliding a $2 million engagement ring onto her finger.

"I'm so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend," Hilton told People, who exclusively made the announcement along with photos from the proposal, at the time. "I have never felt so happy, safe and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairytales really do exist!"

"I was so excited and surprised," she continued. "I immediately said yes."

"Paris is the most beautiful and incredible woman both inside and out," Zylka told People of his then-fiancée. "I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be marrying my dream girl. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together."

All in all, Zylka and Hilton were together for over two years. They first met at an Oscars party nine years ago, but didn't start dating until years later.
