Sam Smith says he's 'going through some sh-t right now' amid Brandon Flynn split

Sam Smith is "going through some sh-t right now" amid reports that he and boyfriend Brandon Flynn have called it quits after nine months of dating.

During his Thrill of It All Tour stop at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday night -- his first show since reports broke earlier in the day about the reported breakup -- the "Too Good At Goodbyes" singer didn't show any signs of a broken heart until midway through his setlist.

"Everyone in this room is going through some sh-t right now," the singer said while talking to the crowd. "I know I'm going through some sh-t right now."

Though he didn't confirm or deny the split rumors outright, later in the night, Smith revealed that he was adding a song to the setlist that he hadn't been performing on his tour's previous stops in America and throughout Europe: "One Day At A Time," a song that he told the sold-out crowd was a love song written about his friends in London after he had his heartbroken from a previous relationship.

To be clear, the song was written before he even began dating Flynn, but the implication of Smith adding the song to his setlist as reports emerged that his alleged breakup had left him "devastated" was not lost on the crowd of adoring fans.

Hours earlier, The Sun had reported that after a "real whirlwind romance" during which "they really fell for each other," the singer and the "13 Reasons Why" actor had parted ways.

"They are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven't worked out," a source told the outlet. "Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had. Thankfully he is on tour across the U.S. at the moment, which has been a welcome distraction."

Two days after Flynn celebrated New York City Pride with friends on Sunday while Smith was in Boston, the singer performed at TD Garden in Boston and showed no indication that the two had split.
