'The Bachelorette': Aly Raisman's ex competing for Becca Kufrin's heart

One of the suitors competing for Becca Kufrin's love on the new season of "The Bachelorette" has already had one high-profile relationship in the past.

Though Colton Underwood made a great first impression on Monday night's season premiere of the ABC dating show, some fans noticed that he looked suspiciously familiar -- and that's because he used to date former Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

In fact, at least one fan "thought [Aly and Colton] were still together until I saw him on" the show.

Noting that he has an affinity for dating women in the public eye, some fans questioned the 28-year-old's intentions of appearing on the show.

"Dude is a famew--re," one person tweeted.

"Hey, it’s Colton. Mr Aly Raisman," RealitySteve, a "Bachelor" expert, tweeted. "Lets see how much increase he gets in his IG followers after this."

The former couple started dating in August of 2016 after Underwood's former Radiers teammate, Andrew East (who is married to fellow gymnast Shawn Johnson), set them up on a blind date. Underwood also made headlines when he asked Raisman out during a live interview that Raisman did around the same time.

They made their red carpet debut as a couple in December of that year and even appeared at that next January's Golden Globes together.

They continued to date until that summer, when Underwood revealed that he and Raisman had broken up.

"We’re taking a break right now. We’re still good friends and talk, but all that travel had been a nightmare," he told The Lincoln Journal Star in June of 2017. "It ended fine. We’re in a good place."

During the season premiere of "The Bachelorette," Underwood -- who is one of 28 men vying for Kufrin's heart -- opened up about his professional football past and why he's on the show in the first place.

"I sacrificed a lot of things including relationships for football," Underwood said on the show. "I don't know much about Becca, but I think that's probably the best way to go into this. I want to get to know her and I'm ready to put myself out there and find love and have somebody to share my life with, share my experiences with. I need a real person in my life. My dog's great, but it's not going to be the love of my life."
