Megyn Kelly reportedly eyeing Matt Lauer's open spot on the 'Today' show

Megyn Kelly may be gunning for the vacant seat left open on the "Today" show since Matt Lauer’s termination for sexual misconduct, Page Six reports.

Kelly currently hosts the 9 a.m. hour of "Today" -- titled "Megyn Kelly Today" -- on NBC and has given herself up as a role model for younger female staffers at the company weighing sexual harassment claims.

She discussed her own experience with sexual misconduct when she worked at FOX News while at the Business Insider Ignition conference this week.

"If a woman came to me at NBC News and said this has happened to me," Kelly said. "A.) I would advise her on what to do and B.) I would work it behind the scenes."

However, despite what several sources say, Page Six also reports that an insider insisted that Kelly does not want Lauer’s old job.

Lauer was fired from the "Today" show on Tuesday night, which was announced on Wednesday morning. Since his ousting, multiple women have come forward with further allegations of sexual misconduct against him. He's reportedly seeking a $30 million payout from the network for terminating his contract before it was scheduled to end at the close of 2018.
