Everything you need to know about streaking 'Jeopardy!' contestant Austin Rogers

Austin Rogers has extended his "Jeopardy!" winning streak once again.

With his victory on Thursday night's episode of the game show, Rogers has officially won eight straight "Jeopardy!" episodes, taking his winnings to an astonishing $306,900. The New York City bartender is far from besting Ken Jennings' all-time record of 73-straight wins, but he's surely won over the hearts of viewers much more quickly.

The quirky 38-year-old, who attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., stands out on the show and garners laughs for his "celebratory histrionics" (his words, not ours), like when he mimed a telephone call for the camera, and his aggressive betting, like when he wagered $34,000 on a Final Jeopardy question.

"They're completely off the cuff," Rogers said of such moments. "While you're up there, before the camera pans over to you, you forget that, 'Oh no, I've got 11 seconds.' I forgot every single time."

His popularity has reached fever pitch on Twitter, too, where he's been graced with his very own hashtag (#AustinOnJeopardy), where fans band together to celebrate his wins and viral moments.

Of course, as is custom nowadays, the Westchester Country-native -- who grew up on a nature preserve -- has also received his fair share of criticism online, but that doesn't bother him. It's par for the course.

"It's been overwhelmingly positive," Rogers told The Wrap of the response. "I take the Haterade with a grain of salt."

On the show, Trebek once asked Rogers how he got so intelligent. His response? "Genetics, luck, karma."

That, and his willingness to watch "hundreds upon hundreds of episodes" of "Jeopardy!" before he appeared on the show, which he studied so closely that he started to notice patterns in the questions.

"I'm not going to say that there's a system or a code, but if you watch enough, you'll start seeing things repeat," Rogers explained on "GMA." "If it ever says 'sculptor,' it's probably going to be Auguste Rodin. If it ever says 'American sculptor,' it'll probably be Alexander Calder. If it ever says 'Romanian poet,' it'll be Eminescu. I have no idea who Eminescu is, but I've seen that come up three times in episodes across the decades."

Rogers was also able to study all of this without even owning a television.

As for what Rogers plans on doing with his still-growing "Jeopardy!" earnings, he gave a characteristic explanation to The Wrap.

"I am going to be incredibly judicious," he said. "You hear all these terror stories of lottery winners bankrupt within years, blah blah blah blah blah. I have to pay my taxes, and therefore I am not touching a single dime of the money until all of my tax obligations are fulfilled."

"Unlike most other contestants, I have zero encumbrances," he continued. "I do not have a mortgage. I do not have a kid. I do not have college debt. I do not have car payments. I do not have grandma in the hospital. This is just literal free money for me."

Tune into "Jeopardy!" next week to see if Austin Rogers' winning streak continues.
