Jenna Dewan Tatum reveals what she learned from working with Jennifer Lopez on 'World of Dance'

Jenna Dewan Tatum has a girl crush on "World of Dance" co-star Jennifer Lopez.

The host of the NBC reality dance competition show recently opened up to AOL Entertainment about her time on the show, and she revealed that it's Lopez -- who both judges and produces the show -- who has guided the show to become the hit that it is as it heads into its second season.

"Jennifer really sets the tone as the executive producer," she told us during a recent sit down at Young Living Essential Oils' Scents of Self experience. "I really admire her as a dancer and as someone who knows what she wants to create. She also just is the hardest working person I’ve ever met in my life. I wanted to really emulate and be around her and learn from her."

"She just owns it and doesn’t make any apologies for it," she continued. "I find that so fascinating, because for most women it’s in our nature to apologize or overcompensate, but she knows who she is and what she’s great at and just owns it. It’s magnetic and beautiful to be around."

"I would find myself just staring at her wondering how she does it. She also smells incredible. It’s the Jennifer secret sauce," she finished with a laugh.

As Dewan Tatum prepares for their second season, she'll definitely be using some of her learnings from Lopez for her expanded role on the show. Viewers will see her take on a more overarching role as a mentor for the show's dancers, which was what her original role was supposed to be and something that attracted her to the project to begin with.

"I thought that, if I was 15, I would've died to be on this show," Dewan Tatum, who used to dance backup for Janet Jackson, mused. "I said I had to do it for my 15-year-old self."

Lopez isn't the only kindred spirit that the former "Step Up" actress has found in recent years, either. Back in 2013, when she was pregnant with her daughter, Everly -- now four -- Dewan Tatum found herself in a panic over what to wear to accompany her husband, Channing, to the Oscars. So, she called a well-known celebrity stylist who would later become one of her best friends: Brad Goreski.

"Brad is my style soulmate," she said with a smile. "I called him for the very first time when I was seven months pregnant and I said, ‘Hi, nice to meet you! I have to go to the Oscars, can you find me a dress?’ I was like, ‘If you can make me look good at seven months pregnant on the Oscars red carpet, then we are going to be great together.’"

"We really got each other, and our personalities just really blend well together," she continued. "He challenges me to try different looks I might not have thought of, and I challenge him to look for certain edgier looks. We collaborate well, and our fittings are a true blast."

Dewan Tatum's perfect partnership with Goreski was put into high gear during New York Fashion Week this month, where the actress appeared front row at the Cushnie Et Ochs show and helped Young Living Essential Oils launch its Scents of Self experience.

Clad in a flattering white two-piece during our conversation (she admits that she wanted to wear sequinned pants, but Goreski talked her out of it), Dewan Tatum was steadfast in her support of Young Living, a company she discovered 16 years ago through a friend.

"I instantly became obsessed after immediately feeling the benefits of them," she remembered of her first experience with essential oils. "I really believe in the science behind scent and that a powerful experience with scents can really transform your energy or mood or the way you feel about yourself."

The actress has since spread the gospel of Young Living Essential Oils to all of her friends and family by giving out bottles of Thieves as Christmas gifts and letting her daughter, Everly, use some of the most basic oils like lavender and lemon.

"Everly and I use them every night, too," she said with a smile. "She’ll be like, ‘Mom, you forgot the oils!’ So I’ll dab them on her, like lavender. She’s always loving it."
