Is Prince Harry about to pop the question?

Sources close to the British royal revealed to Us Weekly this week that the 32-year-old has been plans to propose to girlfriend Meghan Markle on their current 3-week African getaway (more on their trip above!), and he's been planning the romantic move for months.

The talked-about pair are in Botswana, where they celebrated the "Suits" actress' 36th birthday with a "small, surprise celebration."

"He was thrilled to bits that he could introduce her to them," the friend said of Markle meeting Harry's friends in the country. "The celebration began almost the minute they touched down. Meghan was speechless and so touched."

The timing of the couple's romantic trip comes on the 20th anniversary of the death of Harry's mother, Princess Diana, and that's exactly the reason he reportedly plans to propose to Markle on their meaningful vacation to a place that he visited shortly after she died. The source indicates that Harry wants to pop the question this month "so he can associate August with something joyful."

As for the ring? The younger brother to William reportedly channeled his brother by using some of his late mother's jewels. A source told Us that Harry "has diamonds taken from a brooch he inherited from Diana" after she passed away. William famously used her sapphire engagement ring when he proposed to Kate Middleton.

The famously private duo, who frequently evade paparazzi as they visit each other in their respective home bases of Toronto and London, don't intend on sharing the news anytime soon, either, so we shouldn't expect a confirmation of these reports in the near future. The press-shy couple have never made an official public outing together, and Markle has significantly decreased her red carpet appearances since they began dating last summer.

So, when it comes to news of their engagement or Markle showing off her reported engagement ring, it may be a while.

"Harry said he would want to enjoy the news between the two of them before word starts spreading own," the source finished.
