Hilary Duff reveals why Season 4 of 'Younger' will be 'stressful' for viewers

Updated

Hilary Duff says that the upcoming fourth season of "Younger" will be the most "stressful" one yet for the TV Land hit's loyal viewers.

The actress, along with her cast member Molly Bernard, recently sat down with AOL Entertainment to discuss the new batch of episodes, and she was clear about where each character stands after Season 3's multiple cliffhangers.

"There's a lot more conflict," she explained. "We all have had rough patches with each other. So it's a little more stressful. We still have fun, and there's still the funny, crazy moments, but it's a lot more real this season [...] there are some repairs to be made."

Last season left off with Sutton Foster's character, Liza, finally coming clean to her coworker and friend, Duff's Kelsey, about the intricate lie that she's been weaving for the entire show -- and viewers have no idea how she's going to react. And, as Duff explained to us, her reaction will be all over the place.

"It's a little bit of a rollercoaster," she said. "At first she's shocked, then it's hurt, then it's anger. So, it was three clear stages of that and she doesn't know how she will react. It all happens together in an authentic way."

As for Bernard's character, Lauren, she'll continue to be her unguarded, open self as she continues to provide the laughs to the whole cast.

"She leads with openness and transparency and prides herself on [being unapologetic]," she said with a laugh. "Anyone is more conservative than Lauren."
