Ellen DeGeneres explains why Donald Trump isn't welcome on her show

Ellen DeGeneres says that President Donald Trump is not welcome to come on her show.

The host of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" sat down with Matt Lauer this week after he appeared on her show an eye-opening "Today" show interview in which she shares her no-holds-barred opinion on Trump and their differing viewpoints.

"No," she responded when Lauer asked if she would have him onto her show. "Because I'm not going to change his mind. He's against everything that I stand for. We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don't believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights."

DeGeneres also explained that she barely knows Trump, though he did appear on her show during one of its first seasons to promote "Celebrity Apprentice."

"I don't know him," she explained. "I mean, I know him from 'Celebrity Apprentice,' because when we first started the show -- I think season 1 or 2 -- we went out there and we filmed something with him. So, I flew in his helicopter and I did a bit with him, so I knew him then."

"I have not spoken to him since he's run for president or become president," she clarified.

She went on to talk about the anniversary of her coming out, her relationship with Portia de Rossi and more.
