Vanessa Hudgens is teasing her highly-anticipated return to music.

The "Powerless" actress recently sat down with AOL Entertainment at King's "Bubble Witch 3 Saga" pop-up event in New York City, where she told us that fans who are eagerly awaiting her follow-up to 2008's Identified may soon be very happy.

"I actually am," Hudgens said when we asked if she had been recording at all. "You'll get a little surprise taste soon."

When asked about the nearly decade-long hiatus between major releases, the star cited her natural inclination towards acting as the reason for her absence from the music scene.

"Acting has always been my No. 1 passion," she explained. "Singing is a close second, but acting has always been my main focus."

The former "High School Musical" star, who says that she plays Bubble Witch 3 Saga "all the time" on set, has been putting a lot of time in for her new sitcom, "Powerless." In fact, it's actually the most time she's ever put into a project.

"It's definitely the hardest I've ever worked in front of the camera," she said of the gig. "Long hours, really long days. But I'm really lucky, because I have a cast that I absolutely adore."

"Everyone has responded really positively to it," she continued. "I personally just love it, and I think that's the most important thing. I tune in every week. It's really fun, and you don't have to take it seriously. You can just tune in and enjoy a good laugh."

"Powerless" airs on NBC Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EST.
