Lindsay Lohan 'was racially profiled for the first time' in her life for wearing a headscarf

Lindsay Lohan made a bold statement during her appearance on "Good Morning Britain" on Tuesday morning.

While talking to co-hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Lohan recalled a recent incident she experienced while traveling through London Heathrow Airport in which she says she was "racially profiled."

"When I was flying to New York recently, I was wearing a headscarf and I got stopped at the airport and was racially profile for the first time in my life," she claimed in the clip above. "She opened my passport and say 'Lindsay Lohan' and started apologizing but said, 'Take off your headscarf.'"

"I mean, it's okay, but what scared me was that moment, how would another woman who doesn't feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?" she continued. "That was really interesting to me. I was kind of in shock. It was strange. I'm from New York, born and raised. I was a little intimidated."

Lohan had been making headlines as of late for her increased involvement with issues in Syria and Turkey. Reports that she had been studying the Quran, as well as her sudden decision to delete all of her Instagram photos, prompted rumors that the star had converted to Islam. She has since denied those claims.

During her "Good Morning Britain" appearance, Lohan also revealed that her younger sister, Ali, is a Buddhist and that she has found "solace" in Islam.

"The Islamic culture, I feel it's a family to me. They've been really good people to me," she explained. "I want to learn the language so I can discuss situations with them (Syrian issues). It calms me. It's something I'm interested in."
