George Clooney breaks his silence on baby news: 'It's going to be an adventure!'

George Clooney is ready to be a dad!

After news broke two weeks ago that he and wife Amal, 39, were expecting twins, a boy and a girl, George has finally broken his silence on his impending fatherhood.

"We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure. We've sort of embraced it all with arms wide open," the 55-year-old actor said in an interview with French program Rencontres de Cinema.

He revealed that his friends have showed nothing but support, though they did give him a hard time at first.

Clooney was hanging out with some of his friends when they decided to play a harmless prank.

"'It got really quiet," he said. "And they all just started making baby crying noises, and the whole table just busted up laughing."

All jokes aside, a source revealed to People that the soon-to-be father is thrilled to take on his new role.

"He is excited about the kids, but also has the normal amount of nerves that come with being parents."

Clooney, who will be 56 by the time his kiddos arrive in June, isn't worried about being an older father.

He sees 89-year-old French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who had a child with his second wife, Nathalie Tardivel, when he was 70, as an inspiration.

"I'm feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [they come]," Clooney admitted.

The Clooneys have already been preparing for their little ones to arrive! Amal has already chosen the London hospital where she'll deliver the twins, including a backup in New York City just in case they're traveling. She has also already picked out a room in their newly renovated, $12 million manor just outside of London to be a nursery.
