Hugh Grant tapped to host the 2017 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco

Hugh Grant can add another job title to his resume -- host!

Grant will host the 2017 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco on February 14, which will honor the greatest athletes and athletic accomplishments around the globe this year.

"As always this is a massive occasion for the world's sporting community and I'm really delighted to be hosting the event, particularly in Monaco where it all started back in 2000. This isn't just about who wins the Awards, it's also about Laureus and its friends re-affirming their support for what Nelson Mandela said. I'm proud to be a part of that and to do what I can to help."

The award show is returning to Monaco, where the very first Awards Ceremony was held in 2000. The Laureus Awards were founded by President Nelson Mandela, and it was in Monaco that he gave his famous speech highlighting that "sport has the power to change the world."

The Laureus Foundation has gone forward with that message and created the Laureus Sport for Good movement, which is centered on improving the lives of young people through sport. The foundation also honors top athletes throughout the globe for their achievements.

It looks like Grant officially has a Valentine's date -- and they happen to be some of the hottest athletes in town.
