'The Runner' recap: Day 1

Day 1 of "The Runner" was an exciting one, with all five teams of Chasers kicking off the hunt for the Runner in speedy style.

The day's first episode served as an introduction to the exciting new series, with co-hosts Kaj Larsen and Mat Pat giving an overview and introducing the premise of the show. The first ACT (America's Cash Task) was also revealed, which challenged viewers to solve a puzzle to help the Chase teams of their choice with the chance to win cash in the process. The second episode of the day gave us an in-depth update on the Chaser teams' whereabouts, with GPS updates and video check-ins from a few of the teams. The race remained neck and neck.

The day's third and final episode recapped the full day of action and gave us our first look at how the Chaser teams interacted with America on the first ACT to answer the question and unlock their respective lock boxes, which contained keys to their Ford Escapes. It also checked in with the Runner, too.
