Larry Sanders tearfully casts vote for brother Bernie at DNC roll call

Larry Sanders, the brother of Democratic presidential nominee Bernie Sanders, cast an emotional vote for his younger sibling Tuesday afternoon during the delegate roll call.

Sanders, the Health Spokesperson of the Green Party in the United Kingdom, joined the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia as a member of the Americans Abroad delegation.

The delegate began by reading the names of his and Bernie's parents, Eli Sanders and Dorothy Glassberg Sanders. "They did not have easy lives and they died young," he said. "They would be immensely proud of their son and his accomplishments. They loved him."

He added that his parents "loved" Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, and would be "especially proud that Bernard is renewing that vision."

The Vermont senator appeared visibly emotional as his brother spoke. Sanders ended his nomination by saying, "It is with enormous pride that I cast my vote for Bernie Sanders."

The Americans Abroad delegation cast 10 votes for Sanders and seven for Hillary Clinton.
