Jeffery Self dishes about his favorite chapter in 'Drag Teen'

With three books under his belt, numerous television cameos, and some of Hollywood's biggest names cracking up over his jokes, Jeffery Self is proving to be one of the most powerful writers in the entertainment industry.

His latest Young Adult novel, "Drag Teen" feels no different than the rest of Self's literary repertoire. Striking the balance between hysterical and heartbreaking, "Drag Teen" perfectly captures a story not told enough in mainstream books. JT, the story's protagonist, finds a sliver of hope in his teenage life after he discovers a New York City based drag competition that can offer him the chance he needs to not only win a scholarship, but to also overcome his own insecurities.
