Every year, the Tribeca Film Festival screens over 100 films. And every year, a few indie films shine brighter than the rest of the competition. This year, everyone is talking about 'Kicks,' a coming-of-age film about an inner-city boy and his two friends who embark on a harrowing journey to retrieve his stolen sneakers.

Written and directed by Justin Tipping, the film is receiving critical acclaim since it made its international debut at Tribeca.
