Channel your inner child on International Pillow Fight Day 2016!

This Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, marks the seventh annual International Pillow Fight Day! And in case you don't have a slumber party planned for that night, not to worry: There will be tens of thousands of people celebrating in over 100 cities around the world. And if there's a pillow fight near you, you should grab that sleep sack and head down to the park of choice!

The 2016 New York City pillow fight will once again be taking place in Washington Square Park in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, a huge public park perfect for celebrating what's probably the most fun national holiday ever (second maybe ONLY to national puppy day). From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the park will be chock full of New Yorkers clad in bedtime gear, ready for some goodhearted, pillowy fun.

Sounds like a good time, right? But fun isn't the only reason to attend the annual pillow fight. It's for a good cause, too! At the end of the fight, every participant will have the opportunity to donate his or her pillow to homeless shelters throughout the city. Last year, over 1,500 pillows were distributed throughout organizations in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

Additionally, if you buy your pillow at any Sleepy's locations using the codes pillowfight1 or pillowfight2 for your one or two pillows (respectively), a portion of your purchase will be donated to Dare2B, an organization dedicated to the education, empowerment and encouragement of homeless children to break their cycles of poverty.

Although there are a few necessary rules for the pillow fight (including to swing lightly, no swinging at people with cameras or without pillows, and of course some encouragement for participants to come clad in pajamas), it's more or less a good time for people who are ready to welcome spring.
