If there is anything this weekend to be excited for, it's the 88th Annual Academy Awards.

With the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, Leonardo DiCaprio hopefully taking home his first Oscar for "The Revenant," and Lady Gaga's performance of "Till It Happens To You," we are sure to be in for a fun night! However, probably one of the most exciting parts of the night will be the no-holds-bar host, comedian Chris Rock.

This isn't the SNL alum's first time at the big stage, if you remember, he hosted back in 2005 to rave reviews. Here is a clip in case you forgot.


Leading up to the big day, we've decided to round up some random facts about the looming Oscars host!

7.) Chris Rock is the winner of not one, but three Grammy Awards for the comedy-winning albums, "Roll with the New," "Bigger & Blacker," and "Never Scared."

6.) Shortly after his birth on February 7, 1965 in South Carolina, his parents and three brothers settled in Brooklyn, New York.

5.) Rock received his GED after having to be pulled from school after being beaten up so many times (he was bussed to school in a predominately white neighborhood).

4.) In 1987, he had a small role on "Miami Vice," as well as "Beverly Hill Cops II," for which Eddie Murphy personally cast him himself.

3.) In 2011, Rock starred in his first Broadway play, "The Motherf***** with the Hat," to pretty amazing reviews.

2.) Not only did he direct Amy Schumer's hilarious HBO stand-up special, but he also put her in touch with Madonna, after she expressed interest of having Schumer open her Madison Square Garden concert.

1.) Chris Rock left "SNL" in 1993 to join the also hilarious sketch show, "In Living Color."
