The addition of the singer contributes to the big game's already star-studded musical lineup: Coldplay and Beyonce will play during the halftime show. Gaga is having a spectacular 2016. She won a Golden Globe for her performance on "American Horror Story: Hotel," she's nominated for an Academy Award for best original song and she's slated to perform a David Bowie tribute at the Grammy Awards later this month. Past performers of the national anthem for the Super Bowl include such notable acts as Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Billy Joel and Cher. Idina Menzel performed the song for last year's big game. Super Bowl 50 will unfold at Levi's Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area on Sunday, Feb. 7 on CBS.
