One Direction took home the first prize of the night as "Favorite Pop Rock Duo or Group," as well as the big award of the night, "Artist of the Year," in which they surprisingly beat out Taylor Swift.
From Carrie Underwood's "Heartbeat", to Alanis Morissette and Demi Lovato's "You Oughta Know" performance, here are the top 2015 AMA performances.
5.) Carrie Underwood, "Heartbeat"
It seems as though Carrie Underwood can do no wrong. Surrounded by candles, Chinese lanterns and a harvest moon, Carrie gave a classically flawless performance.
4.) Celine Dion, "Hymne a L'Amour"
As a tribute to the many lives lost due to the recent attacks in Paris, Celine Dion gave a moving performance of Edith Piaf's "Hymne a L'Amour." Giving a modern twist to the old classic, Dion brought everyone to tears while a montage of Paris landmarks played on the screen behind her.
3.) Ariana Grande, "Focus"
Ariana Grande brought the class to her performance of her hit "Focus." Starting off slow, Grande captivated the audience with her amazing vocals, but that wasn't long before she stripped off her white gloves and kicked it into high gear for a visually and vocally amazing performance.
2.) Justin Bieber, "What Do You Mean/Where Are U Now/Sorry"
So far, the Biebs has been doing all he can to win back his fans, and with this show stopping final AMA performance, he nailed it. Performing hits from his new album, "Purpose," Justin brought the house down, and the rain, to this incredible performance.
1.) Alanis Morissette and Demi Lovato, "You Outgha Know"
Alanis' 20th anniversary of "Jagged Little Pill" got the AMA treatment when she joined with Demi Lovato for the night's best performance. The Queen of 90s pop, Alanis took to the stage and belted out her smash hit, "You Oughta Know," alongside Demi, and gave us the best performance from the show.
