These reaction photos of terrified tourists inside the 'scariest haunted house in the world' will make your day

Updated

It's that time of year again! For most, Halloween means calling off the "diet" for a week to indulge in candy apples and other sweets while sporting either highly flattering or highly creative (sometimes both - if enough effort is put forth) costumes. For others, it means visiting the world's most terrifying haunted houses as they open for one glorious, limited window of time.

Introducing Nightmares Fear Factory, a haunted house in Niagara Falls said to be the scariest horror-attraction in the world. While the former group of people mentioned above would likely opt to stay as far from Nightmare Fear Factory as possible, the latter group would surely accept the challenge.

What past guests may not have realized upon venturing into the haunted house, though, is that they were being somewhat tricked into providing the rest of us with a wonderful treat. As they timidly crept through the legendary "factory," allegedly housed in an old coffin factory whose owner was allegedly killed after a stack of coffins fell on top of him, the brave souls had no idea that a photo would be snapped of their reactions as they strolled through the most terrifying section of the tour.

These photos are easily the greatest treat we'll be receiving this Halloween. The reactions are so wildly animated that they seem almost staged. We see girlfriends clinging to boyfriends, boyfriends clinging to girlfriends, groups of people running away and their friends remaining put in wide-eyed trances.

Nightmares Fear Factory has been in business for over 30 years. As the oldest continuous-running haunted house in North America, it certainly hasn't lost its edge. Don't fret, though. If you're on the fence about enduring the fateful tour, you'll be happy to know that there's a safe word any guest may use in order to be escorted out.

Be warned, though. Those who utter the safe word have their named forever etched on the Chicken List among 135,000 others.
