Man allegedly kills friend using microwave and guitar because he 'began to change into a zombie'

A New Mexico man allegedly beat his friend to death after watching AMC's "The Walking Dead." He reportedly believed that his friend was becoming a zombie, so he killed his friend in an effort to halt the transition.

On Thursday, 23-year-old Christopher Paquin was allegedly beaten to death by his friend, 23-year-old Damon Perry. Grants police spokesman Moses Marquez said that Perry is currently being held on a murder charge.

On Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a New Mexico apartment complex. When they arrived at the scene, Perry was allegedly wielding a knife. Paquin's body was found inside the apartment. Police say that Perry beat his friend with a microwave and an electric guitar.

Perry reportedly told investigators that the pair had been drinking when Paquin began to change into a zombie. According to Perry, Paquin attempted to bite him. That's when Perry beat his friend. Perry allegedly attributed his actions to binge-watching hit show "The Walking dead," which features a zombie apocalypse.
