On Sunday, an 11-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after his mother allegedly pushed him in front of an oncoming train. The train crushed the young boy's leg, which reportedly had to be amputated.

The 11-year-old boy, known as Leon, was trapped under the train for about 40 minutes while emergency services arrived at the scene and attempted to free him. The boy remained conscious throughout the entire ordeal.

While local media in Germany reported that the boy's leg, which was crushed under the train during the incident, had to be amputated, police have not commented on the validity of these reports.

The boy's mother, Jana, allegedly attempted to flee the Hamburg railway station after pushing her son in front of the train. Police stopped her before she was able to escape. Amid reports that Jana suffers from a psychological condition, she is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

Leon is currently in severe but stable condition as he recovers in a hospital.
