A tiny baby was recently found alive on the side of a road, believed to be in the Philippines, inside a black trash bag. A video has surfaced on the Internet of witnesses rescuing the baby, whose umbilical cord was still attached.

The footage and images may be distressing to some, but they can be seen here.

The footage shows a group of both men and women helping the newborn baby after discovering it trapped inside the trash bag.

While the baby initially seemed to be completely still, the samaritans seem surprised to find the baby alive as they pull him or her (the gender of the baby is unclear) out of the plastic bag. The baby spreads its arms while being picked up by a woman wearing rubber gloves.

The footage shows the baby being placed on a piece of fabric laid out by the samaritans after being rescued from the bag. As the newborn is lifted from the bag, it becomes clear that the placenta remains attached in addition to the umbilical cord.

The samaritans wrap the baby in soft material and carry it to safety.
