Liv Hnilicka, a waitress from Minneapolis, Minnesota, described the moment the young girl's father approached her while she refilling drinks at work.

The father explained that his daughter was asking whether she was a boy or a girl, and he didn't want to speak for her. He proceeded to ask if Hnilicka would like to speak with his daughter. She agreed.

Such a feel good moment! Hnilicka told Cosmopolitan that she has had many negative experiences with strangers in the past, that she was so happy to finally have a positive one.

"I shared it with people because hopefully sharing positive experiences like this only brings about more conversations about what we want society to look like and how we should treat people," Hnilicka said.
