Trump Senior May Have Had Ties to KKK

Long before Donald Trump ever made his first headline, his father, Fred, was in the New York Times.

According to the Times article published in June 1927, but recently rediscovered by blog Boingboing, a man with the name and address of Donald Trump's father was arrested after the KKK got into a brawl with police in Queens.

The article's headline read "Klan assails policeman", and alleges Trump senior was involved in a "battle" where "a thousand Klansmen and one hundred policemen staged a free-for-all."

The Klan members were reportedly dressed in their signature white gowns, hooded, and at least two officers were hurt in the fight.

The Donald's father would have only been 21 at the time and according to the entry he was discharged, which means it's certainly possible the original Trump real estate mogul was just an innocent bystander.

Technically we don't even know this Trump is the same Trump, but if it was Papa Fred, it wouldn't be his last time making the paper for being an alleged racist. A 1979 article, published by Village Voice, reported on a civil rights suit alleging the Trumps refused to rent to black tenants.
