Stephen Colbert is known for his hilarious faux conservative persona on "The Colbert Report." The character so engrained into Colbert that even while making public appearances, he acted just as he did on the show.

All of that is about to change very soon. We have been assured that he will be shedding his "Colbert Report" skin and act more like himself for tonight's premiere of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

In order to get ready for tonight's premiere, we decided to round up some of the best moments where a little real Colbert did actually make it to the surface.

"Oprah's Next Chapter," 2012
Oprah is just as confused as America when talking to Colbert, but he assures he, she is talking to the real deal.

"Meet the Press," 2009
Talking with the late Tim Russert, Colbert explained the process of writing for the "Stephen Colbert" of "The Colbert Report."

"Whose Line is it Anyway?," 2009
In a much sillier side to Stephen Colbert, the talk show host appeared on popular TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" where he showed off his impressive improv skills.

"The Howard Stern Show," 2015
In an appearance on the "The Howard Stern Show," Stern asks Colbert whether or not there is a late night war brewing, for which he quickly denied.

"The Late Show with David Letterman," 2013
Appearing on what would soon be his own show, Colbert spoke with Letterman about his love of "The Lord of the Rings," and told a long story about his family being invited to the set of "The Hobbit" in New Zealand.

We cannot wait until tonight's premiere! Make sure to tun into CBS at 11:35PM to see Stephen Colbert take over as host of "The Late Show!"
