McDonald's and breakfast lovers, rejoice!

After the much anticipated wait, company officials have announced that they will start serving breakfast all-day on October 6. The vote was made last week by the franchise leadership council. If all of this sounds familiar, it's because it is.

For the past several months, McDonalds has been testing the notion of all-day breakfast in several markets. Customers wanted to be able to grab a hash brown, or Egg McMuffin whenever they wanted.

McDonald's USA President Mike Andres told The Wall Street Journal, "This is the consumers' idea. This is what they want us to do. That's why I think this could be the catalyst for our turnaround."

Some, but not all breakfast items, will be available on the all-day menu. The most popular staples, like the Egg McMuffin, the Sausage McMuffin and hash browns will be made available throughout store hours. Depending on the location, items will vary.

To start spreading the news on social media, McDonald's decided to tweet at some of the customers who had asked them about all day breakfast in the past.

It's safe to say both the company and customers are very excited about this news. The big decision will come when we are forced to choose between french fries and hash browns. Start considering your selection now.
