When Tyler Atfield bought his 3-year-old daughter a McDonald's Happy Meal, he was shocked by the promiscuous toy that came with it. He believes that the toy, a Super Mario figure, appears to be performing a sex act.

The 25-year-old father saw his daughter playing with the toy and noticed that when the plastic boomerang is removed from the figure's hand, the Super Mario is left with a hole in its hand. The father grew suspicious watching the boomerang-less Mario's arm motions and questionable grin. Atfield, a motorbike mechanic from Plymouth, Devon, said:

"I was very concerned because it looked completely inappropriate, I was not happy. They should not be giving out toys that look like that. My kids started doing the action and it was so wrong. I confiscated the toy and my daughter was upset, but without the boomerang, it doesn't look right."

Despite Atfield's anger over the questionable toy, a spokesperson for McDonald's insisted that the Super Mario figure is completely appropriate. The spokesperson said:

"Super Mario toys are a much loved part of our Happy Meal promotional range. This particular toy has been available across the world since 2014 without any complaints so we are surprised that Boomerang Mario has been misconstrued in this way. We hope the vast majority of our customers continue to enjoy the Team Mario range in the way the fun children's toys were intended."
