Misconceptions About Life With Paralysis

In 2010, Rachelle Friedman Chapman was 24 years old when she got into an accident on the evening of her bachelorette party. The accident left her paralyzed from the chest down. Five years later, she's fighting against the stigmas surrounding physical disabilities.

While Chapman's disability has caused anger, frustration, and sadness, it hasn't taken away her sex appeal. To prove that Chapman still has sexuality despite her condition, she stripped down to her lingerie for a gorgeous and sexy photo series. She told The Huffington Post:

"I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing through the wheelchair so here I am, this is me without the chair. But I'm actually the exact same person. I hope it will make people think. People with disabilities still have sexuality and honestly I'm tired of being something that we can't talk about as a society."

Chapman posted one of the fabulous pictures, accompanied by an inspiring caption, to her Facebook page. In the caption, she wrote:

"I saw in the media this seemingly overwhelming consensus that people with disabilities are unlovable, asexual and just plain not sexy. I wanted to do something for not only my confidence, but for anyone in my situation who thinks they aren't beautiful because of a flaw."

Both the photo and caption prove that Chapman is indeed beautiful, lovable, and sexy:

One year after the accident, Chapman and her husband were finally able to get married. Four years later, the two had a beautiful baby girl together through a surrogate. Chapman hates her disability, but it doesn't hinder her ability to be a wife, a mom, and an incredible sexy human being. Hopefully people will continue to read her post and feel inspired and beautiful themselves.
