The New York Mets don't have very good batters, but their pitching staff has been incredibly dominant this season. Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom compose one of the most feared duos in the MLB, while rookie Noah Syndergaard is quickly earning the right to be mentioned in that breath.

Today, Yunel Escobar of the Washington Nationals found out why.

Pitching against the division-leading Washington Nationals, the pitcher nicknamed Thor busted a ridiculous 96-mile-per-hour sinker in on Escobar's hands. Escobar would like to forget the rest.

Perhaps he figured if lied there, perfectly still, then nobody would see him. Maybe he wanted to vanish from the stadium. Unfortunately, that pitch was only strike two, and Escobar needed to revive in order to finish off his at-bat.

He struck out anyway.
