Protesters taunt President Obama with Confederate flag

When President Obama arrived in Oklahoma City yesterday, he was not given the warm welcome that he is accustomed to. In fact, the streets were filled with protesters waving Confederate flags as Obama drove by in his motorcade.

As of late, most of the U.S. has embraced the removal of Confederate flags, which historically has been used to symbolize white supremacy and racism. However, not everyone is so easily letting go of their inherent racism.

The supporters of the Confederate flag who showed up outside the President's hotel feel that the flag is symbolic of the South and their ancestors who fought in the Civil War. Yet, what they are forgetting is how the Civil War came to be. It is rooted in slavery, and the flag is a constant reminder of these extremely intolerant times.

There have been movements to remove all Confederate flags — in any way possible:
