Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was tossed from Saturday night's game against the Kansas City Royals, and then tried to give the umpire a taste of his own medicine.

Ortiz took exception to a few strike calls by home plate ump Bruce Dreckman before eventually reaching first base on a single in the seventh inning. The slugger angrily flipped his bat toward his own dugout on his way to first, then shifted his attention to Dreckman, with a few (presumably) choice words.

After brief yelling match from 90 feet away, Ortiz was ejected for arguing balls and strikes. The altercation dragged on, with Sox manager John Farrell coming out to back his player up on the field, but it ended with a classic antic typically reserved for baseball comedy flicks.

"You're outta here!"

"No, YOU"RE outta here!"

Big Papi's attempt to boot the umpire was unsuccessful, though, since the rules don't work that way. Boston lost 7-4, but the 39-year-old gave fans something to smile about.
