Talk about a delicious surprise!

Passengers aboard a flight in Tennessee were treated to a pizza party while they waited out their flight on the runway.

The Delta pilot knew that the passengers would not be happy waiting, so what better way to cure a bad mood than with some pizza! Arriving on baggage carts, the flight attendants handed out slices of Pizza Hut pizza to the passengers to help them wait out their flight.

Passengers of the flight took to social media to express their thanks, and of course, take pics of their food.

What makes a few hour delay of your night flight better? Free pizza! Thanks @delta #MLItoATL #pizza

The flight circled around Knoxville, Tennessee and then proceeded to take an unscheduled two hour layover due to bad weather. Needless to say, this is much better than peanuts or a bag of pretzels!

Remember when Ellen delivered pizza at the Oscars and how excited and happy everyone was? Well replace Ellen with a pilot and the celebrities with passengers aboard a plane, and you've got a very similar story! Click through the gallery below to reminisce the hilarious exchange!
