A would-be robber walked into a store in Colorado and said, "Oh, hey, man, I think I know you" and left without stealing any cash. This isn't some terrible popsicle stick joke ... it really happened.

"Jeffco investigators say this guy robbing the Quick Save on Ward Road looked at the clerk, and a sanitized version of what he said is, '[Expletive], I was going to rob this place, but I know you," a KUSA anchor said.

After the masked man reportedly asked whether the clerk recognized him and the clerk wisely replied that he didn't, the mysterious man left ... in style?

"That would-be robber even flashed a thumbs up on the way out. You can see it right there," a KMGH anchor said.

Not far from that Quick Save, a man fitting the same description as the Quick Save intruder robbed a nearby 7-Eleven.

So far, the man has not been caught. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the department.
