Growing number of trans-Americans crowdfunding their transitions

Crowdfunding has emerged as a new way for people to pool resources for an important cause or business venture. Shakina Nayfack turned to this new form of raising capital to fund a gender transition. She talks about how bringing in the investors helped create a pool of people who supported the process, surgery, and recovery.

Shakina describes the transformation as a "beautiful, complicated, difficult adventure."
