Sam Smith on coming out at age four

Sam Smith announced he was gay before releasing his debut album but that wasn't his original coming out announcement. The recent AMA winner came out at a very young age. He speaks about the experience with Ellen and mentions that that his "mom knew when [he] was three."

The singer/songwriter thought that it was important to acknowledge his sexuality but he didn't want it to define his career or work. Sam Smith wants to make great music and aims to represent and relate to everyone.
