Amanda Bynes tells In Touch that she's engaged; friends and family reportedly say otherwise

Has Amanda Bynes gotten herself into another troubling situation, or is her engagement reveal another sign of her troubled mental state?

In an In Touch Weekly exclusive, the retired actress, 28, who has been photographed wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, said she was engaged to be married to a 19-year-old teenager named Caleb, who she said works in a "bait shop" in California.

"I want to be married and I want to be away from people," she allegedly told In Touch.

The alleged reveal comes shortly after Bynes was arrested in California and charged with driving under the influence, after which she was reportedly spotted talking to herself at Los Angeles International Airport before boarding a flight to NYC.

"I am very needy for friendship and I hate men," Bynes reportedly told the magazine, and apparently added that when engaged, she can tell men to "get away from [her]."

Bynes also allegedly told In Touch she would prefer to settle down in New York City, the scene of Byne's initial breakdown, to avoid having to drive.

"I really do not enjoy driving," In Touch has her declaring. "I don't like the way I look in a car. The lighting is very bad."

After saying "I do," In Touch said Bynes proclaimed that she plans to start a family with Caleb, who Bynes hasn't revealed any additional information about, and would prefer to have boys.

"I want boys, for sure. However many I can pop out ... I don't want a gorgeous girl around. Then I [would] feel way jealous. Ew."

She also reportedly said she would likely be designing her own dress, as she said she's very particular about how she looks.

Bynes family and friends are reportedly denying the claims, according to Radar.

"She isn't getting engaged. She's delusional. This is just more proof of her shaky mental state," a source told the online publication.

Additionally, Daily Mail reports that Bynes has been switching the diamond ring between her left and right hand.

"Amanda's brother, Tommy, and sister, Jillian are extremely concerned for her because she isn't returning their phone calls or texts," an insider previously told Radar. "They fear for her safety and well-being, especially since Amanda is now in New York City. They're afraid she's going to die there."

In Touch reports that Bynes said she will be exchanging vows at the London hotel in LA though hasn't set a date.

In the meantime, she seems to be enjoying scooting around Manhattan on New York's Citi Bikes.
