13 health code violations reported in Mar-a-Lago's kitchen

Health inspectors recently cited the kitchen at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate for at least 10 violations.

The resort has been a regular getaway for the president, who refers to it is the "Winter White House." He has shared meals with multiple foreign leaders there, including Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Mar-a-Lago membership is expensive and exclusive -- according to the Miami Herald, the club charges $200,000 for memberships, which are hard to come by. With all the important guests Mar-a-Lago hosts, it's surprising that so many violations have been handed down to its restaurant.

The Miami Herald reports that three of the violations were deemed "high priority," which means they could contribute the spreading of foodborne illness. Raw and undercooked fish had "not undergone proper parasite destruction," and meats were stored at potentially dangerous temperatures, according to the citations.

Inspectors also mentioned several lesser violations, including not properly maintaining walk-in freezers and not providing hot water at the sink where employees wash their hands.

The violations cited during the Jan. 26 inspection were not serious enough for the restaurant to be shut down.

Still, during their Jan. 26 visit, inspectors determined that Mar-a-Lago's restaurant met the minimum standards required to stay open.

According to BuzzFeed News, Trump will make his seventh trip to the club as president on Thursday.
