Fashion lovers and press were eager to see what Oscar de la Renta would debut during New York Fashion Week. It's the first line for the design company since they said goodbye to its head creative director in July.

In the past few years, the company strived to push their designs toward a younger and trendier crowd. But for New York Fashion Week, the company showcased its Spring/Summer 2017 and reminded everyone why they loved their designs in the first place.

Enter the return gowns, fancy silhouettes, sophisticated colors and embellishments. Lace, beading, tulle and prints stole the show, as the models donned simple hair and fresh makeup. It was back to the essentials for Oscar de la Renta, and no one's complaining.
