Shandling, who starred in and created the '90s HBO series "The Larry Sanders Show," passed away on March 24 at the age of 66 after calling 911 to his Los Angeles home because he wasn't feeling well. He had recently taken a trip to Hawaii where he also reportedly experienced issues with his health.

The official cause of death came over seven months after Shandling died because the coroner's office was waiting for conclusive toxicology tests to be completed. A "therapeutic amount of Xanax" was found in his system.

The announcement comes during the same week of the high-profile deaths of George Michael, on Christmas, and Carrie Fisher, who passed away on Tuesday just days after suffering a massive heart attack.
