Reporter spends months researching Trump's charitable donations, finds one
Donald Trump has long claimed an extensive history of charitable giving, but one Washington Post reporter has found little to no evidence of that.
On the same day the billionaire businessman announced his presidential campaign, his camp released a 93-page list of charitable givings. The list detailed 4,844 individual gifts, adding up to more than $102 million over five years.
Since that list was released, Washington Post reporter David A. Fahrenthold has spent months searching for record of Donald Trump's personal donations.

After a campaign cycle's worth of research -- which was publicly documented on the reporter's Twitter page -- Fahrenthold says he's officially contacted over 450 charities in pursuit of evidence that the Republican presidential nominee donated to their cause.

Fahrenthold then went on to break down his findings from the 450 charities he contacted.

According to Fahrentold, the presidential hopeful donated to one of the over 450 charities he contacted, with a 2009 donation to the Police Athletic League of New York in the $5,000 to $9,999 range.

In a recent Washington Post piece summarizing his findings, Fahrentold notes the charity Trump has personally given the most money to over his lifetime appears to be his own: the Donald J. Trump Foundation.
