'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' will be 5 movies

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will expand to five films, J.K. Rowling announced Thursday.

The "Harry Potter" author made the announcement at a fan event for the movie — previously, the series was announced to be just a trilogy.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will hit theaters on Nov. 18.

The film stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and Colin Farrell. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which is set in the same universe as "Harry Potter." David Yates, who directed the last four "Harry Potter" films, is directing this project.
