Election season is upon us! Over the past week major political parties gathered to nominate their presidential candidates.

The Republican National Convention was held in Cleveland for the fourth time in history. The party nominated Donald Trump for president with Mike Pence standing by his side as the nominee for vice president.

The Democratic National Convention was held in Philadelphia. The party nominated Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as their presidential and vice presidential nominees, respectively.

The conventions were full of political pride and AOL.com editors were on the ground capturing the best moments.

The RNC was littered with elephants:

Protests erupted all over the conventions, the Dems called for a revolution:
